A Paradox of Gray

by Elana White

A cloak of time and space he wears,
concealing only outlines.
His truth is plain enough
for those who look to see it.

He casts his spells with words
but his soul is the magic thing
Beguiling the unwary
enchanting resonant spirits.

He is hero, child, lover.
Deeply innocent, unknowingly wise
Standing alone
embraced by whispering faeries.

A blend of all colours
the warmth of light
the threat of dark
the paradox of gray.
